SUMMARY:Oysters from Switzerland – Poker Your Business
DESCRIPTION:3-day workshop \n10.03.23 to 12.03.23 \n@Gut Sauen \nwith Sophia Pompéry (khb)\, Hannes Käfer (HKBsaar) un Markus Spang (HBKsaar) \n  \n3-day boot camp at the Begegnungsstätte Sauen in cooperation with the HBKSaar. Students from KHB Weißensee and HBKSaar will playfully develop and sketch new artistic business ideas in mixed teams. \nWe will work according to the method of design poker by Andreas Brandolini\, this method propagates playing with chance in order to escape the design dogmas of the classic design process and release new creativity. The unbiased approach to requirements is intended to give rise to processes and artistic business models that go beyond the prevailing expedient rationalism and purely economic sober thinking. \nThe workshop serves to raise awareness of entrepreneurial action and deals with the topic of “process design”. The course accompanies the participants from the creative idea to the business model. \nThe event will take place in Präsenz from 10.03.23 to 12.03.23 at Gutshof Sauen near Berlin. \nThe Sauen Estate is now a meeting place for Berlin’s four art colleges. Here\, artistic-creative and scientific projects can be promoted and interdisciplinary events can be prepared and carried out away from the regular course of study. \nAccommodation and tasting are subsidised by the KHB. Students pay a contribution of €9 per day for the tasting. \n  \ncourse registration: \nhttps://www.seeup.de/anmeldung

SUMMARY:writing workshop and free text group
DESCRIPTION:writing workshop and free text group \nworkshop \n26/12/2022-15/2/2023 \n11.00AM-1.00PM \n@khb library \nwith Jens Voigt \n  \nWriting workshop \nArt needs language! But which one? And how do I develop an ‘appropriate’ language or write a successful text about my artistic or creative work? \nHow can artistic processes\, artworks or exhibitions be reflected on in an appropriate way – both orally and in writing – and how can they be successfully presented and communicated in different contexts\, e.g. in an application text? \nThe workshop aims to offer help and guidance with these and other questions. There are different formats for this: \n1) In various short workshops throughout the semester\, specific questions on the topic of language\, writing and text production are dealt with in a practical way. This semester will start with a workshop on ‘How to write an artist statement’ on 16 November. \n2) In writing counselling\, trained writing tutors support you in 1-to-1 conversations in the process of your written work. All text types (from application letters\, exhibition texts to dissertations)\, disciplines and writing levels are welcome. Consultation can be repeated at any stage of your current text. \n3) In the text group\, your own (text) work can be presented\, discussed and mutually fed back. The group generally provides a forum for talking about writing and reading experiences and their relation to artistic practice. \nThe various offers will take place in the winter semester 22/23 usually on Wednesdays from 11-13h in the KHB library. Individual appointments at other times are also possible for writing consultations\, which can also take place online. \nRegistration for all formats at: juliusvoigt@posteo.de \nInfo and kickoff in the library and online on 26.10.2022 at 11:00 at the following link: \nhttps://us05web.zoom.us/j/85407947011?pwd=NmJRSWMvcmpBTEtVOW1jOGV0TEd4Zz0

SUMMARY:art. power. market. – positive changes under the pandemic
DESCRIPTION:The Corona crisis has accelerated structural change through digitalisation. What does this mean for the art market and our own self-image as artists? What structural possibilities arise from this change? And do new technologies offer more equal opportunities\, for example? \n“Online is the new normal.” – The world is changing and with it the way art is communicated and images are seen. The acute death of galleries and the growing share of digitally consumed images bring radically new questions and demands to the professional realities of today’s artists. At a time when many creatives are questioning their artistic existence\, this workshop highlights positive examples. For example\, new technologies offer opportunities for governance models that address the question of what conditions we artists want to work under and what structures we design for our work in order to assert ourselves sovereignly. \nGeneral knowledge about the professional field of “artist” and practices of the global art market are conveyed under the aspect of the current digital turn. Gallery 2.0\, artist agency\, NFTs\, cooperative networking\, social media\, direct sales? The seminar will focus on the presentation and discussion of concrete and inspiring examples from practice that follow very different professional paths. These will serve as impulses for artists and art professionals to develop their own strategies and a confident attitude.

SUMMARY:nownesslab | workshop | what really matters with Mina Mahouti
DESCRIPTION:what really matters?\nworkshop\nJanuary 30th\, 2023\n4-6:30pm @A1.08\nwith Mina Mahouti\n\nKeen to work on an exhibition concept and realisation?\n\nFocusing on circularity and local matter\, existing uni projects will be further developed and presented in the context of a material – related exhibition in Berlin.\n\nIn the second workshop of »what really matters« students will briefly present their own projects with a material reference. Within the session it will set the focus on concretizing content and continue working on the projects under aspects of sustainability. Where do the materials used in the design projects come from and how can these resources be sourced more locally and made more circular?\n\nTo create more visibility in the city\, an exhibition will be planned together. The students will have the opportunity to exhibit their projects and processes in established and experimental venues in Berlin.

SUMMARY:nownesslab | workshop | what really matters with Mina Mahouti
DESCRIPTION:»what really matters?« explores our relationship with our environment by seeking to understand what it is made of. \nWhich materials surround us and how do we use them in our design and art practice? Where do resources come from and in what ways can they be re-used? \nThis course enables us to critically reflect on our own design practice and to take up decolonial perspectives. The discourse will be broadened through excursions and exchange with practice partners in Berlin. \nIn the first workshop\, we will focus on what really matters to us. We use our intrinsic motivation as a driving force for change.
