SUMMARY:"Lipstick on the Gorilla?" - Art in public space
DESCRIPTION:2-day workshop in person\, at the KHB\, room A.108 on Tuesday\, May 16th and Tuesday\, May 30th\, 10-16h\n  \nwith Sophia Pompéry and Anna Borgmann \nWhen? 16/05/2023 | 10 – 16h \nWhere? at the KHB\, room A 108 \n  \n“Art on a building is like lipstick on a gorilla\,” British star architect Norman Foster is quoted as saying in the book “Hybrid Zones.” In a two-day workshop\, we explore the interaction between art and public space based on successful competitions. The workshop will provide a practical guide through public proposals and impart specific expertise on building regulations that need to be taken into account. Afterwards\, your ideas are needed\, as we announce the competition “A MONUMENT FOR THE WHITE LAKE ACADEMY”\, where you will create a concept for a part of the KHB main building. On the second day you will take on the role of the jury. Now follows the selection process\, at the end of which the first prize will be awarded with a lot of honor and a bottle of wine. \nwith \nAnna Borgmann The Danish sculptor studied art history at Aarhus University and architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She completed her studies at the Kunsthochschule Berlin- Weißensee as a master student of sculpture. Her work is often site-specific and expansive. She draws inspiration from her immediate environment both thematically and in her choice of materials. In collaboration with Candy Lenk\, she has realized several works in public spaces and they have won and implemented numerous art on building competitions. \nSophia Pompéry (artist\, founder and coach) supports from practical experience other creatives to strengthen their sovereignty in their profession. She studied sculpture at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and at the Institute for Spatial Experiments at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her work has been on view at the Stedelijk Museum\, Kunsthalle Nuremberg\, Hamburger Bahnhof\, and elsewhere. Recently a Serpentara fellow of the Akademie der Künste (AdK)\, she is a regular juror for film awards and Kunst am Bau competitions in addition to her artistic work. SUMMARY:Take Your Time - Zeitmanagement und Resilienz für die Selbstständigkeit
DESCRIPTION:Classroom workshop\nwith Sophia Pompéry \nWhen? 02/05/2023  |  10 am – 6 pm\nWhere? KHB\, room A 108\nThe art field demands a lot from us: creative work under time pressure and financial bottlenecks\, bubbling ideas between bureaucratic hurdles and time-consuming jobs\, fresh\, creative energy between sleep hacks for the new generation and project deadlines. Not to mention the inner critic who likes to keep us up at night. For many\, the crises of recent years have led to additional pressure. We don’t want to be irritable\, burnt out\, listless\, and dominated by feelings of futility\, exhaustion\, and anxiety. Therefore\, this workshop asks the question: what is my professional attitude in a rapidly changing\, increasingly digital world\, and how do I treat myself benevolently so that I can remain sustainably creative? \nThe workshop sheds light on the particular challenges that freelance creatives have to face and points out places to go. In addition\, the workshop offers practical help with some exercises and prioritization models on how we can integrate more mindfulness into our everyday work to improve our well-being. Together we will examine desires\, dreams\, possibility spaces. The goal is to examine one’s own attitude in relation to artistic creation and personal boundaries – for a more benevolent approach to oneself. \nThe seminar is aimed at artists and designers who want to do something for themselves and their mental health and creativity against the background of great demands. \nRegister here!
