SUMMARY:Rhetoric
DESCRIPTION:To register for this course students and alumni need to become part of the provided incom workspace! find further information below. \nThe 2-day seminar will take place at the KHB\, Bühringstr. 20 in the foyer of the painting department \nWednesday\, February 7\, 2024 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM\nThursday\, February 8\, 2024 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM \nTalking about yourself and your own work is often not so easy. Gallery talks\, vernissage\, acquisition talks or simply at a party to answer  “What do you do?” – there it would be nice to be sovereign and self-confident. The voice is the first thing that might fail: hoarseness\, throat clearing\, word-finding difficulties. And then where should I put my hands? How can I get a grip on my excitement? What to do in case of a blackout? In addition to basic voice training for a confident voice\, this practice-oriented workshop also creates authentic structures at the content level\, which give confidence in the lecture or conversation and make the “appearance” easier. Content and gestures become coherent\, the posture radiates sovereignty. With simple means\, one can give a lecture or presentation a framework that gives confidence. \nYou will get: \n\nPosture and breathing exercises for a confident appearance and an expressive voice.\nIndividual feedback and constructive approaches for the respective problem.\nContent-related means for structuring a speech or presentation\, which give sovereignty and support even in uncertain moments.\n\nwith Anne Zeppmeisel. SUMMARY:Art. Power. Market. - Positive changes under the pandemic
DESCRIPTION:Workshop on Tuesday\, June 13\, 10h-15h online via Zoom.\nwith Sophia Pompéry \nThe Corona crisis has accelerated structural change through digitalization. What does this mean for the art market and our own self-image as artists? What structural possibilities arise from this change? And do new technologies offer more equal opportunities\, for example? \n“Online is the new normal.” – The world is changing and with it the way art is communicated and images are seen. The acute death of galleries and the growing share of digitally consumed images bring radically new questions and demands to the professional realities of today’s artists. At a time when many creatives are questioning their artistic existence\, this workshop highlights positive examples. For example\, new technologies offer possibilities for governance models that address the question of what conditions we artists want to work under and what structures we design for our work in order to assert ourselves sovereignly. \nGeneral knowledge about the professional field of “artist” and practices of the global art market are conveyed under the aspect of the current digital turn. Gallery 2.0\, artist agency\, NFTs\, cooperative networking\, social media\, direct sales? The seminar will focus on the presentation and discussion of concrete and inspiring examples from practice that follow very different professional paths. These will serve as impulses for artists and art professionals to develop their own strategies and a confident attitude. \nRegister here!

Those who can create a concise image of themselves and their artistic position have an advantage – and can also shape the perception of their work. Finding a professionally detached view and a coherent language for one’s artistic work is difficult for many. – But it can be learned and strengthens both the skills of mediation and the artistic attitude itself. There are no limits to creativity. \n“About me…” is a two-day block seminar that aims to show modes of action and scope for action in the presentation of artistic work and to develop individual approaches to solutions. It is aimed at alumni and students of liberal arts in their main studies. \nThe goal is to develop one’s own self-image\, as well as a holistic\, individual\, creative communication strategy for the artistic work. \nPlease plan time between the two dates for your own implementation of the portfolio. \nRegister here!

SUMMARY:Take Your Time - Zeitmanagement und Resilienz für die Selbstständigkeit
DESCRIPTION:Classroom workshop\nwith Sophia Pompéry \nWhen? 02/05/2023  |  10 am – 6 pm\nWhere? KHB\, room A 108\nThe art field demands a lot from us: creative work under time pressure and financial bottlenecks\, bubbling ideas between bureaucratic hurdles and time-consuming jobs\, fresh\, creative energy between sleep hacks for the new generation and project deadlines. Not to mention the inner critic who likes to keep us up at night. For many\, the crises of recent years have led to additional pressure. We don’t want to be irritable\, burnt out\, listless\, and dominated by feelings of futility\, exhaustion\, and anxiety. Therefore\, this workshop asks the question: what is my professional attitude in a rapidly changing\, increasingly digital world\, and how do I treat myself benevolently so that I can remain sustainably creative? \nThe workshop sheds light on the particular challenges that freelance creatives have to face and points out places to go. In addition\, the workshop offers practical help with some exercises and prioritization models on how we can integrate more mindfulness into our everyday work to improve our well-being. Together we will examine desires\, dreams\, possibility spaces. The goal is to examine one’s own attitude in relation to artistic creation and personal boundaries – for a more benevolent approach to oneself. \nThe seminar is aimed at artists and designers who want to do something for themselves and their mental health and creativity against the background of great demands. \nRegister here!
